Zaman Jassim
Born in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia

Zaman was born on 1971 in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. In 1989 he received his Diploma from the Art Institute in Riyadh. Zaman is a member of the Bahrain Art Society and Qatif Artists Group.

The art of Zaman originates from a vision of an inherited past that is deep-rooted in authenticity and joyfully tinted with the fringes of modernity, harmoniously mingling with the abstractions of our modern times. Zaman holds to his contemporary, innovative, artistic expression without compromising his loyalty to his aspirations, nor departing from his deepest motivations and authentic roots. He starts his journey with a carpet, a tent and a camel saddle, which are spaces woven with human toil and sweat, bearing the distinctive marks of a colorful and intellectual history, which parallels the desert's archives. The artist leaves those vast dimensions to join the desert with its openness on the absolute concealed in his color, in its brightness, shades, subtle tide, vividness and abstraction.

The experiences of Jassim Zaman are derived from the cultural heritage, yet, with an untraditional and non-imitating modern flair. Heritage is present in a different form. The remnants of the past are not absent from his work, albeit vanishing in some ways as he goes about searching for the missing.

Zaman participated in regional and international exhibitions and his work is in the collections of Al Mansouria Foundation, Kinda Foundation, League of Arab States, Emaar International and Saudi Aramco Company.
