Jaume Garcia Antón
Born in Valencia, Spain

Born in Valencia, Spain in 1948, Jaume Garcia Antón has felt, since his childhood, an intense attraction to paint despite a surprising degree in Industrial Engineering. In his youth, Antón was interested in the Pop movement: Warhol, Lichtenstein, Hamilton and, above all, the Valencia striker "Equipo Crónica.

In the second part of the 70s, he held several solo and group exhibitions. Antón is a member of the Field of Research of the Miró Foundation, he supported the establishment of the Associació d'Artistes Plàstics de Catalunya, participated in" The Painted Sheds at Sants. A few years later, he gradually became detached from pop art, shifting to a more expressionist style. He developed a new way of expression, more abstract and more synthetic, with a trend towards practicality. Highly interested in color and formal relationships and their influence, together with the search for synthesis and depth, Antón developed his special and personal style that he calls “paintings painting.”

His work is in major Spanish foundations and museums.
