Mounir was born in Lebanon and has resided in the U.A.E since 1975. He is a member of Copley
Society of Boston (First Art Association in U.S.A), a member of Art Connection (Mounir’s agent in
U.A.E) and a board member of Dubai International Art Centre.
Few find the fortune to do what they delight; an engineer at day, and artist by night; Mounir
Lakkis is enjoying the dual opportunity that nature has gifted him with. A chief engineer of the magnificent and world's only seven-star hotel Burj Al Arab, Munir says, “Life is composed of
duality. God gave me the gift to use both talents in me.” It is said that art connects an artist
with God and Mounir can’t agree more. He insists, Art is the best method of communication
and God is the best source of knowledge. We can’t do anything in life without knowledge and communication. With every stroke on canvas, a new bond with God is created. God loves the
beauty of what we do. Sharing his thought on art he says, “There is no bad or good art. Any
painted contemplation is beautiful.”
