Ragnhild Lunden
Born in Gothenburg, Sweden

Ragnhild Lunden was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. Master of Science at the Gothenburg University the Gerlesborg School of art, internationally working female expressionist, who started her artistic work at a period when abstract expressionism streamed the world. Her education as a dentist as well as her studies of botany and microbiology at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden leave traces in her language of forms. At the Remisen International Workshop in Brande, Denmark, where the organizers generously supplied all materials free of charge, Ragnhild Lunden produced anti-violence propaganda in installations using a combination of painting sculpture and readumades. It was the time of the Gulf War.

Ragnhild Lunden was the winner of The Big Prize, and was later the proud recipient of the City of Brande’s Cultural Reward for her contribution to art in Brande. Ragnhild Lunden has a symbolic language using what catches her interest while crossing her path. She describes painting as a process of downloading her feelings. It is a spontaneous action, so utterly uninhibited that Lunden is not even restricted by the need for brushes. She simply paints with her hands, a kitchen knife, whatever – and the painting comes to life.

She has numerous exhibitions all over the world and many of her paintings have been on show in Australia.
