Robert Arató
Born in Szechoslovakia

Robert Arató was born in 1959 in Spisská Nová Ves, Slovakia. He studied Fine Arts in San Francisco and in München, Germany. From 1984 to 1997 he worked on various fine art and commercial art related projects, such as architectural and environment design, illustrations scale models for museums, aircraft design, stage sets and film scripts.

Since 1996, Robert Arató lives and paints on the island of Ibiza, Spain. He paints seascapes inspired by the Mediterranean. He represents what he is seeing: the sea, the sky, the clouds, and the sun, the lights and shadows of nature. He is interested in the four elements: fire, water, air and earth, looking for the balance in reality and inside us. The work process is something innocent, clean, almost infantile, without political or social interpretations, just based on the impression of reality on his spirit. He starts working on a black painted canvas transforming it into light and colour, like nature moving from dark to light. The result is a calm and serene composition in a large format canvas.

Robert Arató had participated in exhibitions in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Dubai, and Austria.
