Dubai World Cup Auction & Exhibition
March 28, 2007

The Dubai Racing Club in conjunction with the Courtyard Gallery and Art Connection, presented the first ever Dubai World Cup Art Auction and Exhibition, in Al Joharah Ballroom at the Madinat Jumeirah Resort.

Eleven artists from around the world were commissioned to create and exhibit a piece that represents each of the the 11 winners of the Dubai World Cup. A select audience was invited to bid for each piece of art, with part of the proceeds going to the Al Saada Girl’s School, which cares for neglected children and orphans.

An exhibition also ran alongside the auction, whereby the 11 appointed artists also displayed two other pieces each, with an equine theme.

The auction was overseen by Phillips de Pury and Company. Founded in 1796 in London, this auction house and art dealership has offices in many cities around the world, including New York, London, Geneva, Berlin, Brussels and Paris.

All art works were presented in a limited edition book sold both in the UAE and abroad.
